Vehicle History

In this week’s MDEP Highlights I have chosen an example of an engine heavy black smoke baseline measured  December 15, 2004. The engine has been evaluated eleven times and the engine has been maintained black smokeless from the time the Mirenco C-Max was installed April 12, 2005. The question is would you have left the engine as it was in December of 2004 or would you have adjusted the engine fueling and maintained the engine combustion as this underground mine plant manager decided. In this case ‘just’ the fuel savings represents several times the cost to maintain clean burning fuel efficient engine. Engines burning clean and maintained last significantly longer before needing an engine overhaul.
