MDEP Highlights
February 12, 2010
Today’s MDEP Highlight provides yet another good example of how the Mirenco
Diesel Evaluation Procedure (MDEP) can be used to improve and maintain engine
combustion even on brand new engines from the factory floor. The MDEP
reports below are examples of three brand new pieces of equipment that were
evaluated using MDEP. The results indicated that these engines could
benefit from installing C-Max units. C-Max units were installed and the
results demonstrated how a customer can reduce fuel consumption and emissions on
brand new engines. A fuel savings of about 700 gallons per year was seen
on these engines from the C-Max installation. As these engines deteriorate
from normal use over each following year the C-Max installs will allow the
customer to program out the additional fuel loss each year resulting in
additional fuel savings above the initial 700 gallons during the first year.
At the end of these engines useful lives an average of 2,000 gallons a year of
fuel savings or roughly 13,000 gallons total can be saved. Using the MDEP
process and C-Max technology has enabled this customer to custom tune their
brand new equipment on an individual basis.
